Minister of Foreign Affairs Milan Roćen received today the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Peter Plate.
Minister Roćen thanked the Government of Germany for the significant and continuous help to the reforms process and the overall development of Montenegro and expressed his belief that Germany will continue to support Montenegro's further progress towards the EU and NATO. He stressed the importance of strengthening the cooperation in the areas of primary importance for meeting the pre-accession commitments.
Ambassador Plate said that Germany supports Montenegro's further progress regarding the European and Euro-Atlantic integrations. In this context, he emphasised the fact that Montenegro can count on Germany as a reliable partner.
Ambassador Plate also said that, when it comes to the Enlargement Policy, his country has high regards for following the defined procedures and meeting the outstanding conditions which will be the criteria for measuring the individual achievement of each country. He confirmed the willingness of Germany to provide help in the realisation of Montenegro's strategic goals through open and constructive cooperation, especially in the areas where it is necessary to accomplish more tangible results.
The collocutors exchanged opinions on the possibilities for enhancing bilateral relations and emphasised the importance and necessity to intensify political contacts at all levels.
Minister Roćen and Ambassador Plate also discussed current regional issues.
