Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Milan Roćen met today with Ambassador Leopold Maurer, head of the Delegation of the European Commission in Montenegro.

During a lengthy, open talk Roćen and Maurer discussed the process of answering the EC Questionnaire, which is at its final stage. They also talked about the implementation of solutions for the issue of refugees and IDPs, in a run up to the visa liberalization for Montenegrin citizens. Ambassador Maurer said it was likely that the Council of Ministers would positively decide on visa liberalization at its session on December 30. Minister Roćen said all the institutions and the entire Montenegrin administration were focused on fulfilling obligations in this phase of the European integrations, taking primarily into consideration the EC Progress Report for Montenegro.

Roćen and Maurer exchanged views about positive implications of the finalization of the ratification process for the Lisbon Treaty, after which there is no more uncertainty about the EU Enlargement Policy. They agreed this was a great encouragement and impetus for all the countries of the Western Balkans on the way towards achieving their European goals.

Roćen and Maurer also exchanged views on current developments in the region.
