Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Milan Rocen met today with Eduard Kukan, Head of the Delegation of the European Parliament for South East Europe.

During a lengthy, open talk Minister Rocen and Kukan discussed Montenegro’s progress and challenges in the process of the EU integration. Minister Rocen briefed the esteemed guest about current domestic developments and progress that Montenegro achieved in the European and Euro-Atlantic integration processes for a short period of time. He particularly stressed the importance of the visit of the EP Delegation, including the new members, which came at the time of intensive activities related to the preparation of answers for the EC Questionnaire. The Minister thanked for support and assistance, and expressed readiness for maintaining open communication and continuous cooperation. They jointly stated that the European Parliament had a special role for further EU enlargement, as well as that strong regional cooperation and good neighborly relations were best recommendations for further progress in this process. Kukan pointed out that Montenegro, as well as all the countries of the region, could count on full support in efforts for achieving their European aspirations.

Minister Rocen and Kukan also exchanged views on the current situation in the region.
