Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Milan Roćen met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovakia Igor Furdik.

Minister Roćen and Ambassador Furdik expressed satisfaction with bilateral relations and cooperation in the multilateral forum, as well as with political contacts at the highest level, which would further be intensified following the appointment of the nonresident Ambassador of Montenegro to Slovakia, as well as by the forthcoming visits of Prime Minister Đukanovića to Bratislava and President Gasparovic to Montenegro.

Minister  Roćen thanked Slovakia for its active involvement in various projects through which it contributed to the promotion of European and Euro-Atlantic values in the Montenegrin society, as well as for the development aid whereby Slovakia contributed to domestic reforms and democratic processes in Montenegro.

Ambassador Furdik said Slovakia would continue to support Montenegro and the other countries of the Western Balkans on their way towards joining European and Euro-Atlantic structures, and inquired about Montenegro’s progress towards the EU, in light of the recent European Commission’s Progress Report.

They also exchanged views on current developments in the region.
