Milan Roćen, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro met today with the Ambassador of Japan, Toshio Tsunozaki.
Minister Roćen and Ambassador Tsunozaki agreed Montenegro and Japan had good bilateral relations, and pointed out the two sides shared common interest for strengthening cooperation, especially in the fields of economy, education and culture. They expressed mutual satisfaction with the signing of the Donation agreement between the Montenegrin Ministry of Health and the Government of Japan, aimed at improving working conditions in a Health Center in Berane, which signaled the commitment of the new Japanese Government to further bolster relations with Montenegro.
In that vein, Minister Roćen expressed gratitude for continuous donor support provided by the Japanese Government, aimed primarily at developing capacities in the field of education and health in the northern part of Montenegro. He underlined the immense importance of those donations, especially since they contributed to cohesive regional development, which was one of the objectives of the Montenegrin Government.
During the meeting, special attention was given to the cooperation in a multilateral forum, to which both sides attached great importance.
Minister Roćen informed the Ambassador about political and economic developments in Montenegro, and about Government’s activities with regard to its chief foreign-policy priorities.
Minister Roćen and Tsunazaki also exchanged views on current regional issues.
