Milan Roćen, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro met today with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic Hana Hubackova.

Minister Roćen thanked the Czech Republic for continuously supporting the European and Euro-Atlantic perspective of Montenegro and other countries of the Western Balkans, as well as for ardently promoting European Enlargement Policy, especially during its recent EU Presidency. He also underlined the important role that the Czech Republic played in the process of visa liberalization for the countries of the region.

Minister Roćen and Ambassador Hubackova expressed mutual satisfaction with excellent bilateral relations, and said there was a strong interest of both sides for intensifying cooperation in various fields, primarily in the sphere of economy, tourism, energy and environment.

Ambassador Hubackova said the Czech Republic remained supportive of Montenegro’s aspirations to join the EU and the NATO, and informed about the readiness of the Czech side to provide expert help. She underlined significant progress achieved by Montenegro in these processes, as well as in its domestic reforms, by which, as she pointed out, Montenegro continued to contribute to the stability of the entire region.

Minister Roćen informed Ambassador Hubackova about political and economic developments in the country, the Government’s activities concerning its foreign policy priorities, and plans for implementing major infrastructural projects.

The newly appointed head of the Consular Office of the Czech Republic in Podgorica, Vaclav Dobes also attended the meeting.
