Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Milan Rocen met today with Ambassador of the Republic of India Ajay Swarup, on his farewell visit to Montenegro.

Minister Rocen thanked Ambassador Swarup for contributing to the development of the overall bilateral relations between Montenegro and India. Minister Rocen and Ambassador Swarup jointly stated that the two traditionally friendly countries shared common interest in further intensifying cooperation, which would be additionally prompted by Minister Rocen’s visit to India. They discussed possibilities for joint projects in the fields of economy, trade, tourism and IT. With regard to the recently signed Memorandum on cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro and India, Minister Rocen and Ambassador Swarup also talked about cooperation between the two ministries.

Ambassador Swarup said he was honored to be the first India’s Ambassador accredited to Montenegro and congratulated Montenegrin Government for significant progress in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integrations, and for overall achievements in the international forum, which could serve as an example in the region.

Minister Rocen wished Ambassador Swarup success in his future career.
