Minister of Foreign Affairs Milan Roćen met today with the ambassador of the Republic of Italy Sergio Barbanti.

Ambassador Barbanti congratulated on the Questioner that the European Commission handed over to Montenegro, as well as on the prospect of placing Montenegro on the White Schengen List, and said these were very important steps forward on Monteengro’s path towards the EU. He reiterated that Italy would continue to support Montenegro in this process.

Minister Roćen and Barbanti expressed shared satisfaction with intensive political contacts and overall bilateral relations of the two friendly countries. Minister Roćen informed ambassador Barbanti about the Government’s plans with respect to further progress in the European and Euroatlantic integration processes, especially with respect to the EC Questioner and future membership in NATO MAP program.
