Minister of foreign affairs Minal Roćen met today with Javier Solana, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, and General Secretary of the Council of EU.

Solana commended Montenegro on impressive progress, and said Montenegro was developing at high pace and making rapid progress in the process of the EU integrations, indicative of which was today’s European Commission’s recommendation for abolishing visas for Montenegro, Macedonia and Serbia.

Minister Roćen thanked Solana for continuously providing support to democratic processes and for promoting European policy in Montenegro and the entire Western Balkan region.

Roćen and Solana agreed that the region’s European perspective, and close cooperation among the countries of the region in achieving this common goal, could best guarantee durable stability and prosperity in the Balkans.

They also discussed current regional developments.
