Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Milan Roćen met today with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt Amal Mourad.
Minister Roćen expressed satisfaction with bilateral relations between Montenegro and Egypt, as well as with the number of Egyptian investors showing interest for investing in Montenegro. He emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between Montenegro and the friendly country of Egypt.
Roćen and Mourad underlined mutual readiness for intensifying cooperation in the fields of economy, tourism, trade and culture, which would be bolstered by bilateral agreements on protection of foreign investments, evasion of double taxation and cultural cooperation, soon to be agreed between the two countries. Ambassador Mourad said the participation of Minister Roćen at the Ministerial meeting, as well as the participation of President Vujanović at the Non-Aligned Movement Summit in mid-July in Egypt would give a strong impetus to furthering bilateral relations between the two states.
It was arranged that, in line with the Memorandum on Cooperation between two Ministries of Foreign Affairs, bilateral consultations be held in near future, as part of the preparations for the first official visit of the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Gheit to Montenegro.
Minister Roćen informed Ambassador Mourad about the political and economic situation in Montenegro and the country’s progress on its way towards the EU and NATO.
They also exchanged views on the cooperation of Montenegro and Egypt in multilateral forum. |
