Minister for Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Milan Rocen met today with Terry Davis, Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

In the open and constructive conversation, Davis congratulated the Government of Montenegro on impressive progress made after regaining the independence, and on enviable results in fulfilling the obligations assumed after becoming the member of the CoE. They mutually emphasize excellent cooperation between Montenegro and the CoE, and the need for its further enhancement, in which the CoE office in Podgorica and the Mission of Montenegro in Strasburg play a special role.

Minister Rocen expressed his gratitude for continuous help and support that the CoE provided to reforms and democratic processes in Montenegro, and emphasized the importance that the cooperation with this important international organizations had for building modern European society, as well as for Montenegro's faster progress in its European and Euro Atlantic integrations. He reiterated serious commitment of the Government of Montenegro to fulfilling these strategic priorities, as well as to enhancing good neighborly relations and cooperation with the aim of securing permanent stability in the Region.
