Communique: Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Milan Roćen received the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus Homer Mavrommatis

In an open and friendly conversation, Minister Roćen and Ambassador Mavrommatis expressed mutual content with bilateral co-operation between the two countries which can be even further developed, especially in the areas of economy, tourism, and defence.  It was mutually stated that planned high-officials meetings and, upon this, bilateral consultations of the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and signing of the Agreement on mutual non-visa regime for holders of diplomatic and official passports will contribute to uplifting  of overall co-operation between two friendly countries.

Ambassador Mavrommatis congratulated Montenegro on submitting application for EU membership and repeated Cyprus' full support for Montenegro's future efforts on its way to joining European and Euro-Atlantic structures.

Minister Roćen introduced future plans of Government of Montenegro regarding internal development of the country and faster progression towards EU and Euro-Atlantic integration and highlighted that Cyprus' support in this process, as a significant European country, is very important. Minister Roćen also informed his interlocutor of actual political and economic situation in Montenegro, in context of parliamentary elections this Sunday.
