Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Milan Roćen received today the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Jakov Gerasimov.

Minister Roćen and Ambassador Gerasimov expressed contentment with the intensity of cooperation and the development of friendly relations between the two countries.

Special attention was devoted to further development of economic cooperation in the context of preparations for the 4th meeting of the Intergovernmental Montenegro-Russia committee for trade, economic and science and technology cooperation in Moscow, which will take place on October 14th and 15th, 2010. This will also be an opportunity for further meetings of Minister Roćen with high officials of the Russian  Federation. The collocutors stated expectations that the activities for implementing the Agreement on Regulating Soviet Debt to Montenegro will be finalised before long. They agreed that the negotiations over renewing the Agreement on Free Trade with Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus are going in the right direction after the establishment of the Customs Union between these three countries.
