Minister of Foreign Affairs Milan Roćen received today the Head of the EU delegation in Montenegro, Ambassador Lepold Maurer.
Minister Roćen reminded his collocutor of the recent very successful visit of the Prime Minister Milo Đukanovic to Brussels and his meetings with the highest officials of the EU. He expressed content with the establishing of the EU-Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Council in Luxembourg. In this context, Minister Roćen underlined the commitment of the Government of Montenegro to meeting the requirements presented to it, while expecting the avis of the EC.
Minister Roćen and Ambassador Maurer exchanged opinions on current processes in the Western Balkans and they agreed that regional cooperation represents a very important dimension and a precondition for progress towards the EU membership.
They also talked about certain aspects of cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the EU Delegation in Montenegro after the Lisbon treaty entered into force. |
