Bilateral consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro and the Russian Federation on the European and Euro-Atlantic integrations and cooperation in international organizations (OSCE, UN, and CE) were held in Moscow, on June 29, 2010. Montenegrin delegation was led by the Deputy Minister for Multilateral Cooperation, Nebojša Kaluđerović, and the Russian delegation was led by the Director of the Department for European Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Voronov.
During the meeting opinions were exchanged on cooperation between the two countries and the current issues related to the cooperation in international organisations. In this context, the collocutors also talked about the initiative of the Russian Federation on the new concept of European security as well as about the Corfu process which is ran under OSCE in the light of security in the Euro-Atlantic region. The collocutors agreed that there is a need for further dialogue on this matter in order to find answers to the contemporary challenges in terms of safety of the Euro-Atlantic area.
During the conversation they also discussed the progress of Montenegro in the context of European and Euro-Atlantic integrations and the experiences of the two countries in cooperation with the EU and NATO. |
