Permanent representatives of Montenegro and the Republic of Zambia to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Milorad Šćepanović and Ambassador Lazarous Kapambwe, signed on June 29, 2010 the Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations at the ambassadorial level between the two countries.

In an open and friendly conversation they discussed possibilities for further enhancement of cooperation between Montenegro and Zambia at the multilateral level and underlined the mutual interest for developing bilateral cooperation to which future meetings of the Presidents of the two countries during the forthcoming 65th meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations would contribute significantly.
