Permanent Representatives of Montenegro and Cape Verde to the United Nations in New York, Ambassadors Milorad Šćepanović and Antonio Pedro Monteiro Lima, signed on December 17, 2010 the Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations at the Ambassadorial Level between the two countries.

It was mutually concluded that this step is of great importance for establishing a necessary basis for further development of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. The Ambassadors pointed to the possibility and need to intensify the cooperation between small countries at multilateral level, especially under the UN.
