Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Milan Roćen hosted today Ambassador of Ukraine Oksana Slusarenko.

Minister Roćen and Ambassador Slusarenko commended excellent relations between the two countries and underlined the shared interest in strengthening political contacts at all levels. They agreed that the visit of the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Development and Trade Minister Andrej Kljujev taking place in early July will give additional incentive to this end.

They underlined that overall bilateral cooperation may be improved primarily by signing several agreements possibly including the Free Trade Agreement. They said they expect the two expert teams to harmonise in the nearest future the cooperation agreements in the areas of economy, defence, transportation, education and culture.

In the context of Montenegro's accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO), they were hopeful that the coming period will witness the continuation of two sides' negotiations and the signing of a bilateral agreement that would successfully bring this issue to an end.
