Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Milan Rocen participated today in Istanbul at the Second Conference of the Group of Friends of the Syrian People at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Ahmet Davutoğlu.
Diplomatic representatives of the EU, USA, Arab league, the Union of Muslim Countries and a number of other countries will also attend the meeting. The meeting was opened by the Prime Minister of Turkey, Recep Erdogan. He sent a message of encouragement to the Syrian people and, among other things, underlined the moral obligation of the international community to stop the atrocities, as well as the importance of ensuring mechanisms for providing the humanitarian assistance. He also noted that the respect of the UN resolution is the only way for the crisis in Syria to come to an end. All attendees stressed the urgency of ceasing violence against civilians and avoid mistakes the international community has made in the past.

Agreement between the European Union and Montenegro establishing a framework for the participation of Montenegro in European Union crisis management operations entered into force today.
The agreement between Montenegro and the European Union was signed on 22 February 2011 and it has been temporarily implemented since signed. Its entry into force created a legal framework for Montenegro to participate in the EU crisis management operations and further development of cooperation between Montenegro and the EU in the area of Common Foreign and Security Policy. This agreement also confirms the devotion of Montenegro to meeting the commitments arising from the membership of the Union. |

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Milan Rocen will depart today to Istanbul where he will participate at the Second Conference of the group of friends of Syrian people at the invitation of the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey Ahmet Davutoğlu.
The conference will be opened by the Prime Minister of Turkey, Recep Erdogan. It is expected that diplomatic representatives of EU, USA, Arab league, the Union of Muslim Countries and a number of other countries will also attend the meeting.
At the sidelines of the meeting, Minister Rocen will also have informal meetings with a number of attendants.

Ministers of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Milan Rocen will host on Monday, 2 April 2012, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Catherine Knight-Sands.
The meeting will take place at the Cabinet of the Minister at 12 noon.

A three-day meeting of representatives of Montenegro and the European Commission has ended today in Brussels where the European Commission presented the acqquis for Chapter 24 on Justice, Freedom and Security.
Members of the Working Group for Chapter 24 had a chance to learn about the EU acquis in this area and get the information and instructions necessary for further harmonisation and implementation of the EU legislation.
