Minister of Foreign Affairs Milan Roćen received today the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic, Alfredo Mantica, who is in an official visit on the occasion of the First meeting of the Committee of High Officials of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative (AII) Member-States under the Montenegrin presidency.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Milan Roćen received today the Head of the EU delegation in Montenegro, Ambassador Lepold Maurer.

Minister Roćen reminded his collocutor of the recent very successful visit of the Prime Minister Milo Đukanovic to Brussels and his meetings with the highest officials of the EU. He expressed content with the establishing of the EU-Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Council in Luxembourg. In this context, Minister Roćen underlined the commitment of the Government of Montenegro to meeting the requirements presented to it, while expecting the avis of the EC.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Milan Roćen received today Charge d’Affaires of the Slovak Republic in Montenegro, František Lipka, with whom he exchanged opinions on the possibilities for further development of bilateral cooperation and providing support to Montenegro in European and Euro-Atlantic Integrations.

Montenegro is organising the meeting of the Committee of high officials of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative  (AII) Member-States on Monday, June 28, 2010. The meeting will be opened by the political director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Vesko Gačević, and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic, Alfredo Mantica. The Agenda and the priorities of the Montenegrin presidency over AII will be presented during the meeting. They will exchange opinions on current events in the Adriatic-Ionian Region and special attention will be drawn to the Drafting of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian macro region.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Milan Roćen will receive on Monday, June 28, 2010 the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic Alfredo Mantica.

The meeting will take place in Villa ‘Gorica’ at 11 am.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Milan Roćen will receive tomorrow, June 25, Charge d’Affairs of the Slovak Republic in Montenegro, Frantisek Lipka.

The meeting will be held in the Cabinet of the Minster at 12 noon.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Milan Roćen will receive tomorrow, June 25, the Head of Delegation of the EU in Montenegro, Ambassador Leopold Maurer.

The meeting will be held in the Cabinet of the Minister at 1 pm.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Milan Roćen was in a working visit to Finland today, on the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Stubb.

In an open and friendly conversation Minister Stubb said that Finland has a very positive opinion regarding the EU enlargement and underlined the fact that this policy is one of the most successful policies of the EU. In this context he expressed strong support of Finland to Montenegro in terms of its further progress towards the EU membership.

I would like to greet you on behalf of Montenegro. As the youngest member state, we have been dedicated from the first day to all activities within the SEECP. We respected all gatherings, at all levels. This one in particular, since as of tomorrow the smallest member, Montenegro, takes over the Chairmanship–in–Office of the SEECP from the largest member, Turkey. There is a special symbolic in this for the credibility of our Organization. Our role as the chairmanship is a great honor, but also a great responsibility. We have learnt from all of you, and I believe that with your support and assistance we will be able to fulfill our obligations in this capacity. I would like to thank our host, our friend Minister Davutoglu and Turkey for excellent organization of the meeting and extraordinary contribution to affirmation of the SEECP during the year of Turkish chairmanship.
