Bilateral consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro and the Russian Federation on the European and Euro-Atlantic integrations and cooperation in international organizations (OSCE, UN, and CE) were held in Moscow, on June 29, 2010. Montenegrin delegation was led by the Deputy Minister for Multilateral Cooperation, Nebojša Kaluđerović, and the Russian delegation was led by the Director of the Department for European Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Voronov.

Head of the permanent mission of Montenegro to the EU, Ambassador Aleksandar Andrija Pejović, handed his credentials today to the President of the EC, José Manuel Barroso. During the conversation, Ambassador Pejović explained the results Montenegro achieved in the four years after renewing independence. He emphasised Montenegro’s activities in the context of the EC Avis preparation and underlined the fact that Montenegro has become an associated member of the EU with the Stabilisation and Association Agreement entering into force on May 1, 2010 when Montenegro entered a more demanding phase in the process of European integrations.

 Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro was informed on behalf of the Embassy of Israel that the Government of Israel ended a legal procedure regarding the entry into force of the Agreement between the Government of Montenegro and the Government of Israel on the abolition of visas for owners of diplomatic, official and regular passports.

In accordance with the propositions of the Agreement, citizens of Montenegro will, starting from September 28, 2010, be able to travel to Israel without a visa and stay up to 90 days.

In relation to the joint address to the media of their excellences the Ambassadors of the Republic of Germany and the United Kingdom, Ministry of Foreign Affairs will ask Catherine Knight-Sands and Peter Plate for an elucidation on the matter, in accordance with diplomatic practice in cases of this kind.

If necessary, Ministry will give instructions to the Ambassadors in Berlin and London to communicate with the respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs at the appropriate level.
