Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), as part of the cooperation project aimed at broad public education on all aspects of Montenegro's EU accession, are organising a working breakfast with journalists on Friday, 3 June 2011 at Hotel Crna Gora (Yellow Salon) at 10AM.


State Secretary for EU integration at the Ministry Slavica Milačić will talk with the journalists.


The discussion topic will be "Implementing Recommendations from the EC Opinion."

Bali, Indonesia hosted from May 23-27 the XVI Ministerial Conference and Commemorative meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) on the 50th anniversary of its foundation.

Foreign ministers and other high officials of 128 member-states, observers and guests attended the conference, as well as a few dozens of international and regional organisations representatives. Ambassador to the UN in New York, the city hosting the NAM Coordination Bureau, Milorad Šćepanović attended the conference on behalf of Montenegro, an observer to the Non-Aligned Movement.

Leković thanked the President for the assistance Poland provides to Montenegro in its European and Euro-Atlantic integration and voiced the interest of Montenegro to deepen its bilateral cooperation with Poland.

Minister Roćen thanked the Ambassador for his personal contribution to the development of overall relations between the two countries and the continued support of Canada to the democratic processes in Montenegro, in particular the defence reform and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Milan Roćen hosted today Ambassador of Ukraine Oksana Slusarenko.

Minister Roćen and Ambassador Slusarenko commended excellent relations between the two countries and underlined the shared interest in strengthening political contacts at all levels. They agreed that the visit of the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Development and Trade Minister Andrej Kljujev taking place in early July will give additional incentive to this end.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Milan Roćen hosted today the UNDP Resident Ambassador and UN Coordinator in Montenegro Alexander Avanessov.

They discussed cooperation projects between the Government of Montenegro and the UN under the Delivering as One programme and agreed that these are fully in line with the priorities set in meeting the seven key recommendations from the EC Opinion.

Brussels, May 23 – At the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative meeting in Brussels sidelines, Minister Milan Roćen met with Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Gordan Jandroković.

The two ministers met as co-chairmen of the Joint Croatia-Montenegro Commission for preparation of legal proceedings for demarcation between Montenegro and Croatia before the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

Minister Milan Roćen will depart for Brussels today, where he will chair tomorrow the Ministerial Meeting of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative (AII) at the close of Montenegro's one-year chairmanship-in-office. The meeting will be co-chaired by Ms Mercedes Bresso, President of the EU Committee of the Regions, body that initiated and hosted the meeting. 

The Meeting will be attended by AII foreign ministers, European Commission (EC) representatives, and Secretaries-General of the Central European Initiative (CEI), Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Milan Roćen hosted today the Speaker of the People's Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Igor Radojičić.

Roćen and Radojičić talked in a very warm and open atmosphere about the current state of affairs in Bosina and Herzegovina and Montenegro and exchanged opinions on the ways to improve bilateral cooperation.

They also talked about EU integration and they agreed that the European perspective of the Western Balkans countries is of great importance for every country and for the region as a whole.

The meeting was also attended by the chargé d'affaires of Bosnia and Herzegovina Muharem Zejnulahu.
