thumb_ChinaDonation_28972010Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Relations dr Irena Radović and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Montenegro Li Manchang signed on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, the Memorandum on Donation of the IT Equipment to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro.

 It was assessed that today's signing of the Memorandum represents another confirmation of the strong cooperation of the two Ministries in regard to continuous consultations through bilateral and multilateral political frameworks, professional training and strengthening of the capacities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro.

Establishment of diplomatic relations with the State of Kuwait

thumb_Kuvajt_dipl_odnosi_mPermanent Representatives of Montenegro and the State of Kuwait to the UN in New York, Ambassadors Milorad Šćepanović and Mansour Ayyad Al-Otaibi, signed the Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations at the Ambassadorial Level between the two countries.

The collocutors emphasised the significance of the signing of the Protocol for the future development of cooperation between the two states at bilateral and multilateral levels. They pointed to the possibilities for cooperation in the area of tourism and especially of investing in Montenegro.

A particular interest was shown for the meeting at the highest level during the General debate at the 65th Session of the General Assembly of the UN in September this year.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Milan Roćen received in a farewell visit the Ambassador of the USA, Roderick Moore.

Minister Roćen thanked Ambassador Moore for the extraordinary contribution to the enhancement of bilateral relations and emphasised his important role in building an open and constructive partnership and friendly relations between Montenegro and the USA. He reiterated that the key foreign policy priorities of Montenegro are the membership in NATO and the EU. In this context he conveyed the expectation that the USA will continue to support the reforms and keep Montenegro and the countries of the region in its focus, which will be an additional incentive in the achievement of these strategic goals.

The signing of the Memorandum on Donation between the MFA of Montenegro and the PR China

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Relations, dr Irena Radović, and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Montenegro, Li Manchang, will sign on Wednesday, 28th of July 2010, the Memorandum on the Donation of IT Equipment to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, in the context of the implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation of the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the realisation of the programme of developmental cooperation between the two Governments.

The signing will take place in Villa 'Gorica' starting at 12 noon.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Milan Roćen received the Ambassador of Ukraine Oksana Sljusarenko.

The central topic of the conversation was the question of the accession of Montenegro to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in the wake of the Sixth Round of bilateral negotiations between Montenegro and Ukraine, which will be held on the 29th and 30th of July in Geneva. Mutual expectations for a step forward in the finalisation of the negotiations was expressed, which would create conditions for the accession of Montenegro to the WTO.

First bilateral political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro and the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Austria in the context of implementation of the Protocol on Cooperation between the two Ministries from 2007 was held in Vienna, on July 23, 2010.

Montenegrin delegation was led by the Deputy Minister for Bilateral Relations, Dr Irena Radović, and the Austrian delegation was led by  the Secretary General of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hans Kyrle.

Press release: Second meeting of the Montenegro-Republic of Austria Mixed Commission

thumb_pregovori_22072010The second meeting of the Montenegro-Republic of Austria Mixed Commission was held in Vienna, on July 22, 2010. Montenegrin delegation was led by the Deputy Minister for Bilateral Relations, Dr Irena Radović. The host, acting on behalf of Austria, was the Chief of the Sector for Coordination, Planning and Financing the Projects in the Field of International Cooperation of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Austria, Mr Stephan Vavrik.

thumb_potpisivanje_22072010They signed the Protocol which verifies the Programme of cooperation between Montenegro and the Republic of Austria in the fields of culture, science and education for the period 2010-2014. The Programme of Cooperation covers the intensification of cooperation between the Universities, exchange of experts, increase in the number of scholarships for postgraduate studies, enhancement of cooperation of the University units under the CEEPUS and the general, teachers,’ continuing and adult education.

They also agreed the framework for proposing the joint bilateral and multilateral projects under the EU programmes ‘Culture 2007-2010’ and ‘Europe for citizens 2007-2013’; in the established initiatives for regional cooperation in the South Eastern Europe, including the Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe and Building Human Capital under the Regional Co-operation Council; and strengthening relations between the two countries in the field of culture, art and sports.
