It is a great pleasure to me to greet you on behalf of the Government of Montenegro and to thank you for invitation and opportunity to contribute with my participation to success of international conference on the topic “Western Balkans at the crossroad – challenge of European integration at the time of crisis’’.  I believe that this gathering successfully organized by Austro French Centre for Rapprochement in Europe is a good opportunity for exchange of opinion about crucial challenges for the Western Balkans and its perspective and that will point at concrete challenges that European Union is facing as well as the region to which we belong.

The commitments and strong dedication to their further advancement and deepening were also underlined during your official visit to our country. Which would be the priority areas of mutual interest in which the bilateral cooperation could be further intensified?

Montenegro and Macedonia have traditionally good relations, without open issues, with a series of complementary positions and joint strategic foreign policy goals – membership in the EU and NATO.

Let me start by thanking the host, Minister Terzi for the invitation to participate in today's meeting. I would like to congratulate the governments of Italy and Spain for convening this timely Ministerial Meeting which represents a good opportunity to take stock of the current state of negotiations. I commend organizers for ensuring wide participation of countries across different regions and with different perspectives with regard to the Security Council reform. This should benefit and enrich our discussion as we collectively search for the answers and ways to move forward on the path towards the long-overdue comprehensive Security Council reform.

Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is my great honor to represent Montenegro on such an important occasion and to be with you here today. I would like to commend the Irish Chairmanship for the excellent organization of this event as well as for skillful steering of our Organization in the past year.

As a result of tireless efforts by the Chairmanship, today we can greet a new member of our community. The true value of the ideas that this organization cherishes today is enriched with one more, the youngest participating state – Mongolia. That fact makes us all content and convinced that Mongolia will make its unique contribution in shaping the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian security community, which we are set on creating.
