The main goal of the Directorate for EU is improvement of cooperation between Montenegro and the European Union in the process of integration. At the moment when Montenegro is at fast pace entering a process which is to lead to the full membership in EU, the work of the Directorate is in particular important for maintaining and improving the political dialogue between Montenegro and EU, for monitoring of the Common EU Foreign and Security policy, as well as the European Security and Defence Policy.
Apart from these basic affairs, the Directorate performs the following: collects, keeps and processes data on the political, security and other activities of EU; makes preparations for and participates in negotations, conferencies and round tables in the area of political cooperation with EU, foreign and security policy of EU; communicates with other ministries related to the political dialogue with EU and EU foreign and security policy; prepares materials for informing the Government on the political dialogue and EU foreign and security policy; coordinates work and cooperates with the Permanent Mission of Montenegro to the EU in Brussels and the European Commission Delegation in Montenegro, and performs other affairs from the scope of work of the Directorate... |
